No, seriously. We don't want to read your application any more than you want to write it. We all just want to get to the business of playing faster, right? Apps are the most boring part of mod work and the most boring part of getting into a game, so let's make this painless for everyone.

Applications are open indefinitely and processed every weekend. To ensure your app is processed on the weekend after you app, have it posted to this page by 11:59 PM EST on the Friday before.

Canon: Canon your character is from. Add AU if they're an AU or OC if they're an OC.
Personality: A 500 words or less highlight of your character's personality. We'll allow a max of 750 words for AUs and OCs, but if you get lengthier than that we'll ask for a reduced revision even if it's the best damn app ever. Keep it concise, coherent, and to the point. For AUs and CRAUs, make sure you explain how the character is different from the canon version.
Sample Objectives: Give at least two sample objectives you want for your character (these can be changed later in game) with no more than 100 words explaining how this would affect your game play. (Just show you understand the objective system.)
Sample: At least ten comments from your character in a thread or 300 words of sample prose. Threads used for samples should be no more than 12 months old.
Sample Game Mechanic: Give an example of how you'll utilize one of the game's setting mechanics (i.e. the Master and Servant system, or temple raiding) while playing.

Between one blink and the next, your character has arrived in the Temple square! Along with whatever they had on their person, they also find they are now in possession of a paper map of The City, a voucher for one week's worth of rations, and a key to room 5 in the slums. If you wish to handwave them learning that they are stuck here or any of the information in the setting page from NPCs, or prefer to play it out, either option is fine. All test drive threads can be considered canon if both participants agree.
There's a few things we need you to do to set up. First, make sure you're familiar with the game's rules as well as other info from the navigation page. Next, please submit join requests to both the main comm and ooc comm.
Upon receiving acceptance to the OOC comm, add a comment to the player contact page. You'll also need to put a permissions post in your character's journal. We recommend an Objectives and Stats post as well, but they aren't necessary to start playing. Once you've done all these things, comment to the taken page with the form provided. We will not provide main comm access until you've commented on the contact page and submitted the taken list form.
The game opens November 19. Until then, feel free to keep playing in the TDM, and wait for our opening announcements and first mingle before playing in the main community!
