Rules

Rules
» BE EXCELLENT TO EACH OTHER

Is that it?
» In essence, yes. But if you really need more, here's the usual list.

Don't be a dick
» The standard respect your fellow players rule.

This also means to your mods
» We'll be fair, but we won't tolerate anyone being an asshole to us any more than we'd tolerate it towards another player. This is not an "oh we're dictators" rule, this is a "don't swear at us, talk to us like a reasonable human" rule.

Be reasonably active
» Since you're in the game, we expect you to be playing in it and be reasonably active. You're allowed to hiatus if you're having an off month, but you may not hiatus multiple months in a row. Due to the laxness of AC we will not be making exceptions for this policy. We don't want to have to police activity or change up the AC, but we will if it becomes necessary — don't make us do this, it's not fun for you or for us. A good guide for a reasonable minimum level of activity is having at least one thread of substance with new CR or two threads of substance with old CR each month. More details are available on the AC page.

Try to work problems out between yourselves before coming to a mod
» This is an 18+ game and we're all adults here, so if there are issues you can resolve by talking before you need mediation, do so. That said, the mods are here to intervene when necessary, so if talking doesn't work, or you feel that the issue is of a larger scope or isn't appropriate for direct communication with the other involved player, don't hesitate to bring it to our attention.

Don't be a creep; no means no
» If someone tells you no, they don't want to play a ship or a thread or scenario, you say "cool bro" and leave it at that, no explanation required. If someone gets in your business for saying no, you can bring that to a mod and we'll look into it. Disrespecting "no" can result in a warning, and repeated offenses will end in a ban. Don't do it.

Don't kink shame
» We're serious. If you try to make someone feel uncomfortable or wrong for things they're RPing here, you will get a strike. Do it twice and you're out. We don't care if it's your absolute biggest squick, if they're not making you play it and not shoving it in your face (and they shouldn't be, see above), then it's not your business what they're into.

Use appropriate cut-tags and warnings when posting directly to the main community
» Lost Raiders is a game where you can play anything, but in return, you're expected to make it reasonably easy for people to avoid topics they're uncomfortable with. When playing out extreme, possibly squick-inducing kinks, warn for content and put the body of the post behind a cut-tag if you're posting directly to the community. However, threads posted to a mingle don't require warnings. Take this into consideration when browsing and read with your own caution.

Get caught wanking on fellow players? Get out
» Look, it's not our business to police your life. It is our business to make sure you aren't being an asshole to other players in this game, so if you need to complain in private, whatever, vent away. If you drag a fellow player in public, that's gonna get you either a warning or a ban depending on the offense.

Did we mention just don't be assholes to each other?
» Seriously, that's about it. All of the above rules are to lay out what we think is common sense for everyone, but covers our ass if any situation should arise. All rules are subject to change and we reserve the right to enact punishments even if they aren't spelled out here if we deem them needed, but just be awesome and don't make any of that necessary.
