Applications are OPEN

Convince us you can play this character in 500 words or less.

No, seriously. We don't want to read your application any more than you want to write it. We all just want to get to the business of playing faster, right? Apps are the most boring part of mod work and the most boring part of getting into a game, so let's make this painless for everyone.

Only new players need to fill out the full app form!

Returning or current players please fill out the second form!

Applications are open indefinitely and processed every weekend. To ensure your app is processed on the weekend after you app, have it posted to this page by 11:59 PM EST on the Friday before.

» Post apps as a comment to this entry with the header: "App - Character Name (Western order) - Canon". For example: "App - Richard Castle - Castle"

» You must submit your app using the character journal with which you plan to play in the game.

We'll allow a max of 750 words for AUs and OCs, but if you get lengthier than that we'll ask for a reduced revision even if it's the best damn app ever. Keep it concise, coherent, and to the point. For AUs and CRAUs, make sure you explain how the character is different from the canon version.
Sample Objectives: Give at least two sample objectives you want for your character (these can be changed later in game) with no more than 100 words explaining how this would affect your game play. (Just show you understand the objective system.)
Sample: At least ten comments from your character in a thread or 300 words of sample prose. Threads used for samples should be no more than 12 months old.
Sample Game Mechanic: Give an example of how you'll utilize one of the game's setting mechanics (i.e. the Master and Servant system, or temple raiding) while playing.

App - Sion Saiguuji - Di[e]ce

[personal profile] restorefromsave 2016-11-05 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
IC Info
Name: Sion Saiguuji
Canon: Di[e]ce
Personality: Sion is a stoic, cold, expressionless teenager whose calmness in the face of killing others is a little chilling. Or that's how he seems initially. Actually he’s kind of a loser. At first glance he's a little mysterious and somewhat alarming, but under the cold, quiet exterior it turns out he's simply reserved and a little awkward rather than coldly aloof. Though raised to be a killer he's not got the personality to match that, often subtly sarcastic or dryly sassy as a way of teasing and goading his teammates into better spirits in his own backwards way.

He's also got an obsessive personality, having stalked the same boy, Kazuki, most of his life. To the point that not only does he know Kazuki's likes and dislikes, he knows the preferences of Kazuki's best friends, as well as all the games Kazuki plays, and can beat Kazuki's scores in all of them.

Despite his personality flaws Sion is a deeply caring person. As a child he cried and smiled and reacted openly, but when he started training to be Kazuki’s Bishop and guardian/guide in the game of Di[e]ce—an underground set of murder games—he took his role seriously and tried to become what he thought the ideal Bishop should be, resulting in a strange mix of coldness and mother hen fuss as his attempts to be the ideal Bishop match oddly with his naturally caring personality.

Sion’s intelligent, observant, and dedicated in his loyalty. He’s more or less the brains of his team, preferring to quietly observe and calculate his actions when he can. He’s pushy when it’s necessary, and passive and obedient to Kazuki when he doesn’t feel the need to be aggressive. He takes things in stride for the most part, though as canon progresses and he’s killed and revived he definitely starts getting more openly expressive about his feelings and reactions. Showing more open expressions on his face and looking more lost and emotional instead of bitchfaced all the time.

He’s got a complicated relationship with human life, having been trained to kill as a means to prevent devastating war—or so he thought—but he personally doesn’t enjoy taking life at all. He approaches it with cold and detached practicality, but when he was younger the very idea of people dying truly traumatized him.

While his general base nature is kind and polite, he’s grown up with a rather rough pseudo-brother/rival/facetwin who he admired as a child and whose tough exterior and sometimes even rough words he’ll occasionally emulate when he feels the need to seem cool and in charge.

Sample Objectives: Taking care of others - something he’d do naturally but with more of an incentive for him to branch out and be social
Strangling - either erotic or fighty, because strangling is fun and if he gets hot from being choked out it’ll be great confusion
Sample: From another game’s TDM
Sample Game Mechanic: I plan to use the objective system to both give him reasons to expand his CR and to fuck with his head via slowly conditioning him into certain behaviors.

App - Vivian - OC

[personal profile] technomancer 2016-11-05 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
IC Info
Name: Vivian
Canon: OC
Personality: Asshole may be too mild a word to describe Vivian. Nihilistic world-conquering douchebag with a short temper and callous disregard for wanton destruction is a bit closer to the mark. He didn’t start out a villain, of course. He started out a pretty optimistic kid, for someone born out of human experiments and DNA splicing fuckery. But he had someone to be brave for and kind to, when he was younger, his best friend and sort of genetic twin-thing Lethe. Being poked and prodded by scientists for most of his formative years didn’t twist his personality too much, but when he and Lethe tried to escape their life and he ended up separated from his reason for existing, certain that Lethe was dead, he stopped being such an optimist.

Life also continued to suck for Vivian, right up through adulthood. He learned to fend for himself and use the powers he was literally created for to overpower and subjugate others for his own ends, just as he figured all people would do to each other given the chance. And if the universe existed with the strongest using the weak, then he’d go by that principle. He was recruited by a rather insane but powerful man whose interest in destroying the known universe didn’t really bother Vivian one way or another, but the guy was the first one in a long time to treat him decently, and that was enough to earn Vivian’s loyalty. So Vivian’s talents were put to work conquering planets for that man. Talents which included complete control over and communication with any kind of machine or technology, and advanced healing/buffing magic he used to manipulate his own strength, stamina, speed and regeneration to inhuman levels.

Until Lethe walked back into his life quite alive and well and apparently all about saving existence.

Vivian didn’t reform his ways or his personality on meeting Lethe again, if anything he was a feral, angry dog about the whole thing, even if he was pretty happy in his own way to have Lethe alive. Being dragged back by force to Lethe’s base to be Lethe’s prisoner or whatever wasn’t actually that objectionable to Vivian. For one, he got a lot of hot sex out of it, even if Lethe was kind of overbearingly sadistic about it, for another he wasn’t attached to destroying the universe, but he wasn’t that thrilled about Lethe insisting they save it, either.

But time passed and Vivian started to get to know the people in Lethe’s life. Good people with good ideals and strong convictions and personalities, and grudgingly he started to end up helping the whole “save the universe” crusade if only for something to do with his time. And maybe, also, because he sort of remembered people could be likeable and he could actually like them, sometimes.

Though his version of liking people still involves mostly violence and sadism as affection, he’s somewhat relearning how to interact with people without trying to step on their throats first.

Sample Objectives: Marking - Because he loves leaving marks on what’s his and obviously he should have even more incentive to do that
Forming attachments to people - Something that’ll get him to maybe be more motivated to make CR, whether good or bad attachments
Sample: NSFW so very very nsfw
Sample Game Mechanic:He’s absolutely going to try to force people he likes to be his servants in Master and Servant contracts.
